The National Centre for Autism
The National Centre for Autism collects, processes and provides information on autism. The purpose is to maintain and promote a high quality of services for people with autism in local and regional areas of Denmark.
The centre offers qualified information to public offices,
places of education, workplaces, rehabilitation workers, health
workers, people with autism, etcetera.
The National Centre for Autism is part of Servicestyrelsen, under
The Ministry of the Interior and Social Affairs. The Centre is a
part of VISO (Videns- og Specialrådgivningsorganisationen).
The centre has one publication in English - a summary of The National Autism Plan. The purpose of the plan is to create a common basis for the work for people with autism in Denmark.
General activities
- Collecting and processing information on autism
- Collecting information about projects, research and methodological development in Denmark and abroad
- Staying up to date on new publications, articles and Internet resources
- Network collaboration with institutions, organisations and key persons in the area of autism, both in Denmark and abroad
- Maintaining electronic databases on literature, conferences and events and relevant addresses
- Providing information or references to appropriate literature, agency or person
- Publishing books, pamphlets, reports and/or videos
- Publishing and distributing "Autismebladet", a journal for professionals
- Maintaining our website, www.autisme.dk: Publications, conferences and events, literature and links
- Providing references to Danish or international institutions, organisations and key individuals
- Arranging lectures and courses for parents and
professionals
The services of the National Centre for Autism are available to
professionals, parents and individuals with an autism spectrum
disorder. We do not provide specific advice in individual cases,
but suggest which organisations may be contacted in a specific
case.
